I have purchased a 69 charger that has been orange with the rebel flag on top since the early 80's is there any way you can tell if it was built for the show by the vin number?

Hey! More than likely... chances are, it is just an older replica... but anything is possible. There is a VIN list of "known" survivors... but as far as a master list, of all vehicles used, that doesn't exist. You best bet would be to search for tell-tell signs of being a screen-used car, but better yet... if you could document the chain of previous owners back to Warner Brothers. It is very unlikely, because WB was very strict about not releasing any of the car out to public... until 1991, when the Dodge Charger Registry purchased 17 of the 19 remaining cars.
